idea: record the commit of rails that tests cleared against
Reported by azimux | July 22nd, 2008 @ 12:59 PM
I was thinking it would be cool to have a file that contains the rails commit sha1 that the tests last cleared. I ran the tests on the edge branch earlier and there are several errors. I was interested in checking out the version of rails that the tests do clear against but don't know how to find that information.
If we had the commit then people could do a git-reset --hard in a rails branch and run the tests against that. This would let somebody test and fix something in edge engines without having to wait for the engines developers to catch up with everything edge rails has broken since the last time tests cleared, if that makes any sense.
